Hello,
I came across a huge lot of beads at an estate sale this weekend. These stood out, and I am wondering if they are bakelite.
Thanks for your help,

Stick one on it's end with a red hot tip of a pin. If it smells like ammonia it's celluloid, if it smells like an old overheating electric motor it's Bakelite. If it won't stick at all its glass.
Thanks, the smell I'm getting is overheating electric motor.
They look very similar to my Grandma's old beads here (the yellow one). I still don't know what mine are, definitely not glass so I'm following this post with interest!
These are definitely not glass.
A few handfulls of these, and hundreds of assorted glass and ceramic beads.
