This magnificent set is by Sherman, rarely seen, and not in the book, as the authors do not have this bracelet. They do have the same earrings and brooch set which is pictured in the book. I have identified this as a parure set because as of now there is evidence of a necklace pictured in the book, a necklace with same stones !~ In the first picture I used the 1927 Eatons Catalogue !~
Since I first posted this I found another identical rare bracelet so now I have 2 of them. The whole set is all Japanned in that gorgeous black on the back of the bracelets. One of the bracelets had a smaller clasp. The smaller clasp is identical to the larger but in a smaller size !
I contacted Sandra Caldwell about the bracelet and she wrote: " The japanned cobalt and emerald set is very special and quite rare. " The bracelet and the whole set is jappaned black on the back. As with a lot of the best pieces of Sherman you have to see this and handle the bracelet especially to see how complicated the settings are !~ >.....H
