    Hi Everyone:

Years ago I recall going to the gas station with my Parents and you would get a Promo Tiger tail to hang from your trunk of your car for the "Tiger in the Tank" logo/saying. That must have been in the 1960's era. In the 1980's, I found these 2 Tiger Tails that reminded me of those memories.
These are reproductions of an old idea. I did contact the company to find out if they know what exactly these were for. Were they for Esso?
Was it Esso that ahas the Tiger in the Tank idea too? Anyhow, I am sure of you will remember the original ones like this from back in the 1960's.
I think those ones had a Black Elastic on them.

Thanks for LOOKING / LOVING !! Any other info Welcomed !!!

Yes it was ESSO, you can still find original ones for sale occasionally.

HI, Rose! I found a brief history of the ESSO/Exxon 'tiger' on their company website here when posting my tigger: (caution, the website wants to track your location for some reason, I declined)

      https://www.exxon.com/en/history

but gotta admit my first thought when seeing your "tiger tails" was more along the lines of the Garfield cat-window toys of the 1980's:

      http://mentalfloss.com/article/87936/great-garfield-car-window-toy-craze

Or more specifically a maybe slightly later car-cat toy for the trunk lid instead of back window, the "KrushedKitty":

      http://articles.latimes.com/1988-11-19/entertainment/ca-607_1_cat-owners

But none of those are quite like your tails. The references I *did* find that seem to exactly describe yours are related to a couple of (US) college sports teams presumably with "tiger" mascots (Clemson and Auburn are mentioned, I don't personally follow sports) whose fans apparently hang/wave them from all sorts of things on "game days".

[and now, I've gotta think about where to go looking for *my* Garfield suction-cup cat...I know I have one of those somewhere... <LOL>]
