This payphone sign is (was) a much more common type in blue (than my red 'Phone Inside" sign just posted) bearing only the word "Phone" on both sides. Also 12" square heavy gauge aluminum, this one has a 90degree 'mounting flange' allowing it to be hung in several different ways, usually (but not always by any means) attached to a wall or post above a 'clamshell' style phone booth. Like the red one, this sign has some slight scratches presumably from storage (or subsequent dumping in a scrap metal bin) but does not appear to have ever actually been put 'into service' anywhere.
This one, since we're a little into the wayback machine right now, is currently adorning the wall in my carport... ;-) :-)
