I got this from a friend who's a delivery driver who was dropping off an order and next door was an old building that was being renevated. He's always looking for things so he checked out the dumpster and this is one of the things he found. He doesn't collect so he showed me and I bought it from him
It's a beautiful hand painted picture on tiles in an old frame that was mounted in the wall. The building is an historic the town and the tiles are large. There's no damage other than the frame is a little loose.
Who ever painted this is a master painter but no signature is seen on the front and I don't want to chance damaging it by removing the back.
It pays to have friends who love to dumpster dive as it payed off for him and me. Hope you enjoy seeing this.
Very much resembles treasure !~
What does the writing say on the bottom right, La Rente Colonial? And something else under that.
Thank You all for the love, I wish you could see how crisp the color is as well as the detail in the painting. This photo does not do it justice. I also got an old sleepy eye indian water pitcher he found, he has a good eye for picking.
Superb! Just beautiful. I'd take it someplace to have appraised. The detail!
Very often, the tiles are identified individually by the manufacturer. It would have no bearing on the painter but could help in dating the tiles. Again, what does it say on the bottom front right.
Use all four pictures & show the back and lower right corner. You say it's not signed, but it's 'signed' right there.
Removing the back should not hurt it as long as your do it while it's laying on top of a blanket on a table. Show us a pic of the back.
Thank You for your comments and I will get it out of my storage this weekend ( I'm sorry it won't be sooner but I'm sure I'm not the only one with way more than I can keep in my home) and I'll take more photos. I'm raising two granddaughters and they take up our time.
Thanks Newfld for the love.
