Vintage motorbike SPARE SPARK PLUG case made by Desmo High Grade Accessories Ltd Birmingham
AGE = Circa 1910-1920 ? no doubt the Registered Design # would give an accurate age, as might the date that the PATENT was applied for
This delightful vintage motorcyling accessory still RETAINS it's original spark plug case LINER, all remaining black paint work is ORIGINAL and unretouched
Marked as being DESIGN REGISTERED "Reg Des. # 690243 and with a PATENT PENDING
This firm "DESMO" made a huge variety of car accessories over a fifty + year period was particularly FAMOUS for it's ultra high quality car mascots and hood ornaments
The Desmo Company was likely started Circa 1900 being on of the VERY FIRST automobile and motorcycle accessory manufacturers it was taken over in 1926 by the Harris & Sheldon Group.
In 1939 the works was in Bracebridge Street but by1950 manufacturing had moved to Scholefield Street.
Desmo ended its days in the Midlands on an industrial estate at Kingswinford and the firm's name was sold by H&S to the Paddy Hopkirk Group.
