    My Dad works for a tool charity and the odd thing gets dropped in from time to time.
    All I can say is, its heavy!

      Very interesting item Mysterious! Looks like you have the community stumped. How big is it? Is it iron or brass? If you put a piece of round stock in the top(or any other shape)would the knobs make it move?It looks like there is a number on one of the arms. Any other numbers or letters?

      Hi! Sorry for taking so long to reply.

      I literally just found out what it is..

      It's a "EDWARD PRESTON" 'Patent saw set #1460 Bronzed'

      The punch is missing which goes through the top. The arms set the distances, the brass wheels run the blank through the cutter.
