Only identifying marks "Improved A Level" "G Cox.5.Barbican London". Probably had expanding pole. Now has 6" brass pole, one end of pole has worn down threads. The opposite end has probably been cut off and fits over the three leg base perfectly. The mechanism for determining level has two ends. One end has two sighting holes with cross hairs. The other end has one sighting hole with one crosshair missing. The only other imprinted words are "rise" and "fall" and they are on the wide brass piece with two sighting holes. The level is 18" long. It is made of Mahogany and brass. No date of manufacture.
