This is my Cold Steele Trail Master bowie. This is from the late 1980s so it is not old but still collectible. Also it is excellent knife and rather impressive. Cold Steel Knives are now made in Asia, the quality is still considered to be about the same but some still prefer the originals made in the USA. These were made with what was called Carbon V steel. There is a technical term for that grade of steel which would be of interest to knife makers. The steel does look bright and shiny like stainless steel but it will easily rust due to the high carbon content but holds and edge very well.
The blade is 9 1/2" long. The handle is made of a rubber type material. Bone or antler is classier but the handle just glues itself to the hand.
The blade cuts rather easily. A flick of the wrist buries it in a piece of wood as seen in photo 4.
I used to chop stuff up to show how well it works. Chopped a door in half. Took a bunch of strokes but it was still a good demonstration.
