Granny was married to a military man so they traveled all over the world.
No one really sat on the sofa.
It stayed in her room with ceramic dolls on it.
Nobody knows when she bought it or where.
There is supposed to be a point in the center back of the couch but it broke off and it almost looks like there should have been 2 other points on the left and right backing that may have broken off at one point but may have been sanded and restained ?
It's about 72" in length.
There is a reupholstered tag underneath dating 1995, but it almost looks like it's been done within the last few years.
Any help in dating or figuring out a model/designer.

I see a bit of what looks like Gothic Revival with the crosses . But it is very hard to see detail on your photo and it has been refinished and new upholstery . Nice family heirloom . Most collectors prefer wood not be refinished it diminishes value . And your sofa would have been very dark color originally .
Sorry I found the site late last night and just used the flash on my phone so the pictures didn't come out the greatest! Thanks for your input though. I'm so interested in this sofa, I've wanted a settee for about 6 years now. I'm very fortunate to have inherited it when no one wanted it! Their loss ???? any clue on the year? Approximate of course. Or anything I should be looking for in particular on the sofa itself
It is actually Eastlake style, looks possibly early 20th century but probably 1995 is the re-upholstering done date. Very nice and clean looking. Very hard to pinpoint a maker as there were hundreds of makers. Most eastlake is not marked, but at least you have a definite style !~
I feel better knowing more about the sofa. I appreciate all and any info!!

I have seen a lot of Eastlake and usually this finish you have is what is on a lot of the pieces and most pieces I have seen seems to have been refinished.
I debated on Eastlake Phil because of the cross's which I have not seen on Eastlake I see both styles but pieces missing would be interesting to see . Pretty cool that poster's husband has your name :-) Thanks for adding to this and clarifying it Phil and you do know your furniture !

I have the one broken piece that I could take a picture of add to the pictures.
I added the picture of the point that's broken off... But it carefully placed it on for the picture
I say Eastlake also. Not to question you but are you sure that tag doesn't say 1895? I love it too. My g mother had a chair with very similar upholstery but the thing with this piece is that I feel it would have originally had a ton of upholstery tacks right next to each other, which would indicate a very expensive piece of furniture. I'll see if I can link something here to show you what I mean. This is a great piece tho and sometimes, some pieces just need to be redone because of storage areas maybe where the material has simply rotted. Look up Eastlake furniture.
I just saw that you actually have that piece that's been broken off! That's very cool. I also just saw Manikins comment and see where she's coming from as well. So...
