642-B McAlister Plate & Sheet Metal Spinner. One of my favorite "mechanical" wires.
    1486-B Merrill Eight Point Twirl
    1699-B Ellwood Twist Wrap Spread
27-C Sergeant Sheet Metal Plate. In my opinion, this should be listed with the "B" wires because the punched hole becomes a barb.

I'm jealous, I looked for a 642B for 11 years and not a one came up for sale as far as I know. That 27C is a hard one to find too. Nice wires!

Thanks for the comments. The 27 C Sergeant has been given a new number. It is now 1673 B. The McAlister came from Doug Ewald who acquired it from Jim Goedert awhile back. It has 3 barbs which are mount perpendicular to the next barb. In my opinion, it is one of the best mechanical wires.
With the dispersal of the Goedert collection by Dan Sowle, a lot of very rare wires have come on to the market. Most have found new homes, several found their way into my collection. It was the single factor to bring me back into the hobby after a 10 year break. It was Jim's and Dan's wish that these rare wires end up in collections that will be shared often to inspire other collectors and get this hobby growing again with a new generation. I believe this Collectors Weekly forum will be able to do just that.
