Another recent junk store find, which is scrubbing up nicely. ;-) :-)
This is a kinda large though shallow roasting pan, measuring roughly 11-1/2" x 16" x 2". It is made of very heavy gauge (>1/16") aluminum, and weighs in at nearly 3-1/2 lbs. (!!)
THE ALUMINUM COOKING UTENSIL COMPANY (TACUCo, trade name: WEAR-EVER, a subsidiary of a little company named ALCOA which was first formed to promote and sell aluminum when it was a newly invented "material") has made their cookware since the beginning of the 1900's. This particular pan is likely from the earlier part of their age range, since the "TACUCo" lettering in their stamped logo changed from vertical to horizontal orientation somewhere around the 1950's or so. (I think?)
This pan might have originally been sold with a much deeper matching lid (#818?) which might have included some kind of 'vents' with sliding covers on its ends.
My appreciation for the looks and <loves> goes to fortapache, TassieDevil, bobby725, Trey, and rockbat!
