So a while ago at an estate auction, i won this marked Rosenthal Studio Line Bjorn Wiinblad coffee service, which i have yet to be able to identify the pattern.
Material wise seemed to be stoneware, thick, not bone china. Colors are mostly this deep forest green accented with canary yellow. Whimsical, very much Bjorn Wiinblad's style.
This set consist of a coffee pot, a creamer, an open sugar bowl (shape like a double handled baby sippy cup or a handled soup bowl, deeper), 6 cups and 6 saucers. All the pieces remind me of bamboo, as they all have a bamboo-like designed with the tiered rib on the forms.
I have scoured through replacements and ebay, so far i have only been able to find one listing on ebay where the cups seemed to be of the same form; distinctive as the handles are louped, but the colors are completely different.
Outside of that, Brotzeit is the only pattern that seemed to bear partial semblance in certain elements like the forms etc. If anyone can help identify this set it would be greatly appreciated.
Also, this is the estate where i purchased an unmarked, giant 4 ft Thomas floor vase in the "Catherine" pattern (also a mystery as i have yet to find one being reference anywhere of that size), a Rosenthal and Emillio Pucci Coffee Set, and a Rosenthal Calla Lily vase. Would it be plausible that it was a made to order, one of a kind set?
Thank you.
These can be very elusive and I doubt it was made special order. I have a set from his Romance (Flame) design which is quite rare. My set was only produced for four years then discontinued. Mine are also clearly marked and never used. I was totally unable to find them on the internet. Spelling was my issue. I was searching "Romance" but they are listed under "Romanze" This type problem is quite frustrating when doing research.
@keramikos , belated thank you!!!
