This 6"H persimmon (deep orange) sculpted glass bunny is from the rare original 1968-1969 series and named Thumper after the Bambi cartoon. Later made in a variety of types & colors, the orig. five colors were persimmon, avocado, blunique, amber & thistle pink. By Viking Glass Co. (1944-1998) of New Martinsville WV

Ken, you always make my day with your kind compliments. This bunny was the hardest glass animal I ever had to photograph, so sculpted that whether in natural or artificial light he was shadowy all over. So very grateful for the nice words J.

Very kind compliment Rick, I appreciate it! He does look red but is actually the dark orange persimmon color- I held him up to other Viking red glass animals to be sure, their reds are more ruby

Appreciate the great comment Kinki, yes this Thumper bunny is quite red! In person it has a bit of an orange-red coloring and was sold to me as Persimmon which is a rare Viking color in glass animals, but in my photos it looks to be definitely bright red. Such a heavy piece, I think Viking used leaded glass, but they are very strongly made & impressive
