A very pretty Victorian gold framed brooch with central citrine set into chalcedony.
The reverse has a tube hinge with pin set into a cone clasp. Probably the original was a ‘C’ clasp but with wear, the pin has shortened and the cone clasp keeps the pin secure.
Thanks Valentino97 for the loveS!

This is so pretty! :-)
Thanks TassieDevil for the loveS and your kind comment. :-)
Nice brooch! I love the anti poke closure :-)
I often wear my brooches on a necklace, and so, I'm sometimes cruelly poked by the needle as most have the classical C closure :-)
Thanks Kyratango for sharing your knowledge. I have never heard the term ‘anti-poke’ which makes perfect sense wearing a brooch as a necklace! This brooch pin is so short of the original ‘C’ clasp it wouldn’t be secure, so the cone or anti-poke must be a later addition? Goes to show you never stop learning, so thank you. :-)
It's such an interesting combination with the citrine and chalcedony, but works so well! I also love the contrast of the very plain chalcedony cut and setting and the very ornate citrine setting on top of it.
Many thanks racer4four, for your lovely positive comments.:-)
