I dont know anything about crocks, but I found this one and am interested in finding out its history. When, where, and manufacturer. As the pictures shows it has a #3 inside a star inside a circle. The lid also has a #3 engraved in the stoneware before glazing or firing. It is very light in color both inside and out. Plenty of pitting and gray splotches on the exterior finish. No cracks and very minor chips on the underside of lid.

I believe it was Brush McCoy that used the star marking. The #3 is the capacity in gallons.

Red herring, sorry. Brush McCoy’s star logo had rounded points, resembling a gear. I still believe your crock is Ohio made, but I don’t know the company.
