A lovely WWII period original photograph showing a British Naval Battleship sailing in the ocean, with islands/land to the background. I am not sure what class of battleship it is, but with two big guns to the bow I'd say some sort of Destroyer. Unfortunately it is not named, so I do not know what ship this was. Still a lovely looking ship and overall a nice photograph with only one small tear on the photograph, and it is slightly bent, other than that a great old piece.
Cool photo. I am going to guess it is either a cruiser or battleship. Does it have gun housing along the side of the superstructure? My current guess is heavy cruiser.
Very nice photo Jamie hope you find something on the identification.
fortapache,
Many thanks for your comment as always, and help in possible identification. I can't tell if there is a gun to the side of the superstructure, unfortunately, as the ship is quite far away in the picture. Perhaps it is a Heavy Cruiser. Many thanks for the help.
Roy,
Many thanks as always for the nice comment.
Best regards,

I am still working on this one. Destroyers tended to be very narrow and have single gun mounts for the main armament. Although some did have dual gun mounts. The width and shape of the bow on this leads me to believe it is a British heavy cruiser.
I have some WWII ship models. I'll try and take more photos later. Here is a link to my post....

See photo 3. At the bottom is a destroyer and above it a heavy cruiser both British.
Fortapache,
Very nice model ship collection! It's very hard to say as to what class of ship it is, but I would have to agree that it's probably a British Heavy Cruiser. Thank you very much for your interest, your help and for stopping by. It is greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
