These toys belonged to my husbands Grandfather. I discovered them in a box out in our shed. I brought them in wiped the dust off and my mother in law told me who they belonged to and forgot they were out in the shed. She was gonna put them in a yard sale, instead she gave them to me cause I loved them and I collect old items. We have the ice truck with horse and rider including three ice cubes, mail truck with horse and rider and two mail bags, fire truck with rider and horses, beer truck with six barrels(that is all we have) two riders and a dog, and eight horses. All have original reins. These toys are amazing and it reminds us of toys were made back in the day. I know with old iron toys the only way I dust them is with a feather duster. The piano they are sitting on is a 1906 up right piano. Everyone that comes in our home talks about them .
Not to disappoint you too much but these are reproduction from 1970/80's. If you study original cast iron toys you will notice the casting is more crisp and they did not use phillips head screws. That said, because they were your husbands Grandfather's they should have some sentimental value.
