Collectabl…
(310 items)
A cracking pair of Chinese jars. Beautifully created and I am desperate to find out more about them. They are in a great condition and again I bought them for £10.00 at my local Charity shop in Devon UK. So if anyone recognises them or has any info on the marks I would really love to hear from you. The pots are approximately 14" high x 7" wide. Neil
Very nice jars.
May I recommend a great group on Facebook who are friendly and helpful with identifying stuff:
Collecting Chinese Ceramics and Art

Thanks racer4four, I am a bit scared of Facebook, Twitter etc. Is there another way of accessing the Collecting Chinese Ceramics and Art group ? Neil
Not that I am aware of.
A really great resource is http://www.gotheborg.com.
There are some forums online and they appear pretty good although I have not used them:

Hi Neil. I am trying to be friendly but when it comes to negative opinion of the item, it doesn't sound friendly. This one is under 50 years old, not antique. It's possible to find antique Chinese ceramics in charity shops, especially in UK. Britain has imported millions of Chinese ceramic in 18-19 century, but there are millions collectors out there across the world. Personally I hunt antique ceramic in Charity shop as well, but not very fruitful.
I think people prefer to know what they've got, it's always a hope and a prayer if you get an actual result nowadays. I wouldn't worry about being unfriendly or negative because like you said there are millions of pots, vases etc out there it's just finding the right one. So thank you for your feedback, it is greatly appreciated. Neil
Hi Shrine did you manage to have a look at my other 2 Chinese pots ? Neil
