This 2" Coro (1901-1979) zebra brooch is showing his age a bit, some fading of the black enamel but for a forties brooch he has all his white rhinestones. In a marcasite style.

I'm so happy you like him Judy & appreciate the kind compliment
Ken, that's so great to hear, he's a pretty impressive old boy isn't he, can just picture him prancing around the circus arena, a lively design for its age
Thank you kindly officialfuel
I used to find a lot of Coro pieces always in really rough shape, he is in pretty good shape for his age !~
All luvs humbly appreciated

Love your insightful comment as ever Phil, you are so right about the Coro they don't age too well, with this one enamel somewhat worn but rhinestones still bright, although script mark pretty faded
Thank you very much for the luv Roy
Adorbs! I couldn't see the mark, or the clasp, clearly, sorry, would help to place him in an era, whenever it was Coro cold painted their brooches.
Thanks for the kind comment katherine, the mark is in script in center of his back in pic #4, yes it has faded quite a bit but if you have an enlarger you can make out the "oro" clearly. You can see this design on many antique sites, Coro also made it in an all white rhinestone version
With sincere thanks Karen
Thank you kindly Pascale

So pleased you found this favorite vintage Coro zebra six-0-one, the love is so kind of you thank you very much as always :)
Thanks so much Searching & vcal for the love for this Coro zebra, it's one of my oldest Coro pieces and I adore it because it's a now defunct circus animal, brings back fond memories & very glad you liked it as well
Thanks DejaVu & Giana for the love, very nice of you both and very much appreciated
