    I have been given this soup ladle by my dad it's been in the family for over 20 years after he purchased it for 1p just wondered if anyone can throw anymore light on it other than John Henry potter was the maker and was possibly done in Sheffield is it plate ? Silver ? What year was it as the markings mean nothing to me ...cheers

      EPNS means Silver Plate.

      EPNS stands for Electro Plated Nickel Silver. ``A1`` is for the best quality of plating (thick silver deposit).The maker is correct.
