Bought this supposed to be 1940 full bed,can anyone tell me about it,solid wood but what type and who made it,has 3 small looking circles at bottom of footboard post both sides engraved to wood

Its probably walnut wood, I would think, but hard to tell from the pics !~
There were furniture makers in every town. Several in large cities. Extremely unlikely that there is any information.
Your photo's are much to small and don't clearly show the wood.
Mattress looks comfy. :)
