This is something I bought as a Christmas present and that I wanted to keep for myself. It's a beautiful camera in great shape. The inside is at least. Outside it is a bit rougher but that made it all the better gift.
As seen in photo #4 it looks like a leather covered box. But when a button under the carrying strap is pushed the front pops open to reveal the camera. The button is a bit tricky to find. There is a large gap between the camera casing and the cover but the lens and bellows slides out smoothly and catches the tracks on the cover smoothly.
Looks to also have some nice brass touches on it. It was the brass age.
This camera is Kodak NO. 3A Folding Brownie. It was made from 1909-1915. It takes a photo 3 1/4" x 5 1/2". It may be possible it still works then we can take vintage photos.

Did you keep it? If not, I hope your sacrifice was appreciated. It's a very neat camera.

FWIW ... based on the shutter (F.P.K Automatic), your camera dates from 1909 to 1913. It sold for $10 during this time. The red leather bellows is in excellent condition.
