CDV of girl with large doll

This is a carte de visite with a girl showing off her large doll. The doll gets the honor of "sitting" in the chair.

The cdv was photographed by Fred Lowe of East Cambridge, Mass and his backmark can be found on the back of the image.

Additionally, the photographer has cancelled the revenue tax stamp "F.C.L." and dated it "1866". The tax on photographs was a Civil War revenue generator and was in effect from 1 AUG 1864 until 31 JUL 1866.
