X-mas is finally gone and its *almost* New Year's Eve again, after all ;-) but I was more prompted to spread these out and snap a few pics after doubling my collection of the green "bamboo stalk" shaped ones when I stopped by a local SallyA's this afternoon -- I already had 4 of those, now I have 8! (and of this group, they were already by far my favorites!) :-) :-)
All the rest are basically plain in shape and form. To the left of the bamboo ones (in 1st pic) are a couple completely clear longer ones (likely martini pitcher stirrers, not so much swizzle sticks?) then four more small clear ones. Next to those are four with amber colored balls (2 sizes ea.) on their ends, then six with tiny 'spoons' on one end and amber tips on the other. (one of those is an inch or so shorter than the others...??) To the right of the bamboo ones are 16 more, variously colored cobalt blue, light and dark green, and amber.
For size reference, the bamboo ones are about 8" long (perfect for 'tall' tropical-themed drinks!!) and most of the rest are closer to 6" long. I won't pretend to suppose that any of them are remotely "vintage" or "rare" (or even terribly "unusual"?) in any way -- I just enjoy them because I think they are fun -- much moreso than the generic plastic straw which would more than likely come stuck in your cocktail (if even that?) at all but the fancie$t restaurants/lounges/parties these days... <groan>
[and just for the record, I fully realize that "non-generic/branded" plastic swizzle sticks are an entirely different matter...I've also got *bunches and bunches* of those, remaining for a future post one of these days... ;-) :-) ]
But anyways...for the moment, CHEERS to ALL Y'ALL along with my best wishes for 2018!
Yummmm, I’m just in need of a big tropical cocktail now after seeing these :-)))
All the best for what’s remaining of 2017 up to 2018!
Thanks so very much to fortapache, kyratango, Manikin, and Caperkid for your <love-its>!! Kyra, there weren't necessarily any 'tropical' drinks over my NYE weekend here, though I did use one of these to stir some Irish cream into my coffee on a chilly morning or two...? ;-) :-)
Some FUN NEWS today -- I came across another 10 pcs of these I didn't realize I otherwise already had. <lol> All in plain style, 4 are clear glass (one w/spoon end) and 6 in 2 different shades of blue. CHEERS, everybody! :-) :-)
