    i can use this for shoveling all the BS we've heard this past year from the white house! i have no idea what it was used for, but it's old and there's no writing on it i can see. i really like old tools w/ personality!

      I agree that it is a cool shovel, but it doesn't look to me like it is *nearly* big enough for that particular job...? ;-)

      You have a "D" handle shovel also called a man killer because of the short handle, large scoop and you had to constantly be bent over to use it. Back in the 50's and 60's these were used for moving grain and also bulk coal in a coal bin. The one you show is well worn from use. They were not rounded like this when new.
