For the past three years, I have been fortunate enough to receive Xmas prints from a Portland, Oregon, rock-poster artist named Gary Houston, whose work I've been collecting (modestly!) for just over a dozen years. You can see his stuff at voodoocatbox.com.
These are small screenprints, made by Gary in his studio, each 8 1/2 x 11 inches. Like a lot of artists in his corner of the country, Gary sometimes plays with styles that were originated by Pacific Northwest peoples. And though he's never struck me as a traditionally religious guy, I'd definitely describe him as spiritual, borrowing freely from positive and hopeful sentiments, whatever their origins. I'll post a link to an interview I did with him a few years back in the Comments section below.
