This is a lens that was given to me by my cousin who found it at her parents house. I have not found much information about this lens.

Based on the serial number, your lens dates somewhere around 1875 to 1876. Opening up the lens to look at the glass elements would tell you the type of optical formulation; such as petzval (for portraits) or rapid rectilinear (landscapes portraits, architecture, etc.). For reference, here is my post describing the petzval optical design: https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/198737-sectioned-petzval-portrait-formula-lens In the meantime, you can easily measure the focal length which would help determine the size (format) of the camera it would fit.
Ah! Thank you so much for that! Very helpful information.
