Several years ago, I got a call from a buddy one evening, who asked if I could come meet him where he was working cleaning out a building, because "he had found something he thought I might want". He was more than correct in that guess, it turns out...? <LOL>
This is (part of) a sign that once identified a short-lived local restaurant. It consists of a sheet metal box about a foot high and 8' long overall, containing two white "neon" tubes and their wiring/high voltage transformer behind a screened plastic front. The transformer itself is dated 2007, so this sign isn't actually anything "vintage" at all. It still operates perfectly, as well as silently.
[and as for what I did with 'the rest' of the sign...well, stay tuned... ;-) ]
