Each one of Tom Clark's gnomes have a unique story and coin to accompany the piece.
Some are still produced and some have been retired.
This is one one of my favorite collections, because they always make me smile.
"Saturday's" (card is missing) so I'm not sure what his sign is. However he was produced in 1982. He is signed by Tom Clark, his piece number is 56 and he is retired.
His story reads-
"Saturday's child works hard for a living" - that is why he needs a good rest at the end of the week. He is relaxing against the base of a stump from Cairn Ridge. He symbolizes leisure (maybe even retirement !) and the snail behind him sets the pace. The Moroccan coin is to get him dreaming about faraway places. The bird footprint on the bottom of his shoes will aid him in his flights of fancy".
Who doesn't love a relaxing Saturday ?
This gnomes leisurely attitude is right up my alley.
