I haven't been here for a moment and I've found it a bit different.I'm not sure if I'll be able to post here at all and to put photos.Let's try...
Anyway,I'd like to share a collector's story about how much we can be crazy and loose control seeing something wanted.
When I saw this vase on a bid I got crazy immediately, what was more, the price was reasonable,so I clicked all the buttons and bought the vase.I was really disappointed when unpacked a delivery and realised that the vase is damaged: many drops were broken and utterly fixed with a glue or something. Then and only then I checked the description and all photos :the seller was ok,because she described the vase with detailes. It was me who was completely and entirely blinded by my desire of have it!

I've done it numerous times too Ivonne. I still love the pieces not just for what they once were, but for what they are now. Life in a vase.

We must remember that all the great art museums exhibit items salvaged from the past that are reconstructed or even just fragmented shards...in our own humble way we are preserving history...

I see why you got under the vase's spell. I think we all at some time are picture crazy and we seldom read the fine print. When I look on ebay I find it hard to see details until you cannot retract a bid. I now am to the point where I find it too good to be true so I read the fine print and hopefully can save the day. Good luck on future finds.

A cautionary tale indeed. I almost did the same. There were two identical vases for sale by the same seller, but listed separately a week apart. I'd assumed the second was the first re listed after a sale fell through so didn't read the description and the photo looked the same. It was only after I'd written to the seller to see if it had been re listed again by mistake that I learnt the truth.

It's so easy to make a mistake,Fran, especially when a seller has two items but uses a photo just of one of them because it's simply easier for him/her.Thanks for your story:)

Oh! how I empathise, I have done it many times and you think you will remeber to read it before hitting the ‘BIN’ button the next time ..but nooo!.. in the excitement of finding it and before anybody else does....you do it again..:-/..it’s a very beautiful vase....:-)
