I got this as a gift from a woman, who I helped identify some Native American basketry for a couple of years ago. I like to help ID baskets and I do not charge for it. I love to do research on baskets I am not sure about and my payment is the person I helped out thanking me, that is it :)

I love this candy dish, and right now it is on a side table in my living room to balance a basket I have there. The picture of the Eastern Woodlands basket is here on my page, I took the pictures and uploaded them about 4 months ago. This is just over 6 inches from handle to handle, and with a scalloped edge around. I have tried to ID the mark, but all I get is Moritz Zdekauer, I know that is the name of the maker in Austria, I however am looking for this particular mark and I am sure it is out there all over the internet, but I am having a heck of time finding it and finally gave up. I know I will get a good answer from people here on CW :)

The beautiful Pinecones painted on this were done by an artist with the last name of Chapman. I am unable to decipher the first initial though. I would love to get some more info on this, like when this might have been done. It is in great shape, with no cracks or chips anywhere. The gilding around the edge is still nice and shiny. I put this under China and Dinnerware, but this is not either...at least I do not think so. I always thought that there was a difference between China and Porcelain. I am unable to find the right place for this for the time being, until I get more info on it..hopefully.
