Again, something different! Today would have been David Bowie's birthday, & in two days time it is the second anniversary of his passing.
I wanted to mark the occasion by sharing some of my Bowie memorabilia dating from the 1980s. First, a collection of badges & pins, displayed on a Victorian satin glass lily pad shaped fairy lamp base.
Next, a t-shirt from the concert I attended in 1987, & another t-shirt dating from 1990. I was 17 when I got that one, & I still wear it.
An inspiration to me, & many others...thank you David for the magic you brought us - your star will never fade.
Very nice, its hard to believe he has been gone two years. I know I have some Bowie badges in my collection somewhere.
Many thanks, rockbat & valentino97!
I also can't believe it's been two years...I was lucky to see him in concert twice, in 1987 & 2004.
When I was younger. I was such a music snob. I never wanted to see those old guys perform. Dylan, Bowie, so many missed chances to see something good. But, I have seen Billy Bragg, 3-4 times, so I am happy.
A very talented artist :)
Totally agree, Trey! The greatest!
Wore my Sound and Vision tee until it fell apart, but think I have another somewhere as well as the Concert Program.
Thanks so much, vintagelamp - nice to hear from another Bowie fan. I'll be posting some more memorabilia in the near future...
