Basket by Ann Mitchell, Mohawk

This just came yesterday, my Christmas pressie to me:)

This is not old. In fact, it is brand new. The majority of my collection is from 1870-1950, but I have gotten a few new ones too. This basket was made by Ann Mitchell, Mohawk Native American. She added the flowers for me and I love it. It is about 3 and a half inches in height including the finial and a bit less than 3 inches in diameter at the middle. It has my colors: Natural, Green and Mauve. I love the finial work, the flowers and how Ann weaves Sweet Grass on the bottom of the basket. I love smalls and miniatures the most, and this fits in perfectly in my curio cabinet.

I do hope to get one of Ann's beautiful Cactus Baskets sometime, but I am happy to have this little pretty basket of hers right now:)
