This is a handmade Mexican Saltillo wool blanket, and it is old. The cotton tassels are still all there on both ends, from the look of this blanket it was not used much at all. Maybe it was placed on the back of a couch like it is in my home, and that is why it still looks so good. This blanket is really large, about 63 inches by 92 inches. It is so big I had trouble getting it all in the picture, I had to fold it up at the ends as I wanted to show the cotton end tassels. My cat loves this blanket and takes at least two kitty naps on it every day. It is her favorite place to nap, only second to her kitty sills I put up for her in the windows. I do not have a picture yet of her snoozing up there on the couch, but my Maine Coon Beau liked to sleep up there too. He never messed with the end tassels but my new kitty Pearl does, so I have to hide them inside the blanket and since she cannot see the tassels she does not look for them. I am glad about that, I really did not want to have to put the blanket away, I want to keep it out where I can see it.
The last picture is of Beau at 7 months old, he was a big boy! I lost him at a year and a half old, he was sick and it killed me to let him go. He was huge, weighing almost 20 pounds and he would have grown for another 3 years or so. Maine Coon cats are the largest long haired cat breed in the United States. He was so sweet, I miss him terribly and after I lost him I then adopted Pearl. She was a trauma case and had been abused alot, but after 5 months with me in my home she is finally coming around. She is finding out that not all humans abuse their pets, I will never understand how people can do that to animals! She is a Russian Blue and she has a voice like a Siamese...REALLY LOUD! Her nickname is Ethel Merman LOL and if she talks to me and I do not respond right away she ramps up the volume!
Anyhow, enjoy the pics and thank you all for enduring my books that I always write in every post here. I try to keep them short but it never ends up like that.
