I am totally lost on this piece. It appears to be made of red clay. Not sure if it’s considered Majolica or not. Trying to figure out maker or at least the origin.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

I would think Majolica, although I am no expert, beautiful piece !

"Wall charger plate"? What is that? I can't figure it out. Is it recessed? It look like a layer of plaster on the back. All the air bubbles. Or a chalk coating.

The colors are fabulous. Size? It's strange that the center of the back is smooth.

      It’s about 14” x 10”.
There is a hanger hole on the back so I guess it’s meant for decoration.
I uploaded new pictures as the one with the underside was making the back to appear recessed.
I am not sure what is the white, paint, chalk? Is it possible it was added later as there are some drops on the colored finish as well.
The glaze (is this a glaze ?) is not well adhered to the bisque. Maybe they should have coated it with a slip first.
