I found these gorgeous oval carnelians on flat rolled gold links on sale for £1. They just had to come home with me! It's a typically Art Deco style with a shepherd's crook clasp that was commonly used at the time.
The links are in great condition with very little corrosion. The beads have a few chips around the holes and have a bit of dirt stuck in the holes but it's a lovely piece, especially for the price tag!
Thanks for the love people!
Very nice, especially the findings used and so many beads were done with string so they often did not last like this nicely done work.
Thanks Phil, I've found quite a few including some in the family with the same square gold filled wire findings. It seemed to be a popular style here (Scotland) in the 20s and 30s. Whether they were made here or elsewhere is a different matter!
Beautiful necklace!
