I stopped at an estate sale today and bought several things, this bring one of them. This is a very brightly colored glass bowl that is marked Italy on the bottom. Does anyone know this pattern or maker?
That's fantastic!
These are from the late 60's into the 1970's and are by a Murano company called "V. Nason & Cie". The founder, Vincenzo Nason, had previously worked for Veninni. The line is found using reds, Blues, and this kind of Chartreuse green. Cool stuff.... This one is very nice, and a form less frequently seen. Nice find!!
I love the colors they used in these..... It is from their "Aventurine" line, which refers to the globs of copper flakes seen in groupings in the glass. That is the original form of Aventurine, which has now become a term that many use to simply refer to sparkly additions used in many times of glass to include gold powder, mica, and silver foils.
Celiene, thank you!!
Welz, thank you so much for taking the time to write about the bowl. I was wondering if it might be Murano. Appreciate the info!!
