(928 items)
Inspired by racer4four's brooch collection post, here is my more modest selection.
The first photo shows various glass brooches, most of them Czech & dating from the 1920s - 1930s era. Also included are two dress clips (the black one with a silver bird, & the red cherry - like one that is just to the lower left). There are two examples of Venetian glass as well, both appearing to be make-do efforts that reuse a pair of earrings (the bar brooch) & the other, a millefiori bead.
My favourites in this group are the mauve triangle, & the red gloved hand.
Second photo shows a selection of plastic & metal brooches dating from the early to late 20th century.
Two early plastic fish, a Bakelite butterfly (was a dress clip but I converted it), Bakelite butterfly with attached leaf & bells, large red letter M (70s or 80s I think), red Bakelite dress clip with letter M (another conversion to a brooch), Bakelite sailboat, wooden log with attached mushrooms, 2 x silver brooches with enamelled bluebirds, butterfly wing with tropical scene, kitsch plastic painter at easel (has to be 50s), rhinestone fan, green Bakelite dress clip (converted to a brooch), plastic pencils (most likely 80s), Lea Stein plastic bar brooch, pink palm tree & red cherries (80s), wrapped sweet (maybe 50s?).
The majority of these were op shop & flea market finds long ago.
Bluebird brooches! Love them, always have.
Such a great selection, and the glass ones are great!
My favourite plastic one is the log and mushrooms; weird and good :)
Thanks so much! Yes, I'm a big fan of blue birds...& have some other blue bird/swallow motif items as well. The mushroom brooch is cool, isn't it? I think it's probably Central European in origin.
Beautiful colors :)
Many thanks, Trey!
Your welcome :)
Indeed I am an M...but not a Mary :-)
I don't wear them, just enjoy them on display.
Glad you're enjoying my brooches - & yours are neat too! Letter M's & bluebirds are a great mix!
love love love! especially the 2nd picture!!
Many thanks, lentilka11, glad that you're enjoying them!
