Hello! Can anyone help me identify the maker of this doll? She belonged to my husband's mother, so I am thinking she might be from the 1930's. I have looked but can't find identifying marks on her. She is 12 1/2 inches tall and I think the material she is made from is composite. Thank so much for the help.

Hi your doll is composition with tin eyes and human hair wig and eyelashes . She would date from around 1930's your correct with that . She has held up well with very little crazing or paint lifting which often happens with these old Compo dolls . It would be hard to say for sure maker as there were so many producing dolls like this . She is a USA made doll . Be careful cleaning her no water it is bad for compo . She loos like she is in original clothes and shoes and socks . If you can not see a mark under wig at back of neck or on her back then pretty hard to say maker . Hope this helps a bit but her maker is really not significant to her value in this case as she has a very typical face of the time nothing jumps out like a expression , she is has what is called a dolly face , She is very cute and wold clean up nicely :-)
