Found this tool among old kitchen gadgets. Does anyone know what it is? The sprocket looking pieces are razor sharp blades.

      You have a Nut Cracker!

Why would a nut cracker require razor sharp blades? It seems like more of a cutter of some type than a simple nutcracker.

G'day DeeM. What we have here is a Nut Cracker/Sheller, from the 1950 Duke Patent. Many hand tools, be they kitchen or otherwise, can, and are used for non intended purposes, and this Nut Cracker/Sheller is no exception.
