I hate to use or overuse the words rare or very rare, but I know that this set is one of those once in a lifetime sets. It is that rare that it is not in the book on masterpieces as pretty much all opaque sets would be shown. Both pieces of this set are signed.
A beautiful set that I made a big offer on as soon as I saw it listed up to Nov. 19, 2017. I had to tiptoe as the seller was French and thought I was rude when I was using please, I had to pay big money for this set as I knew it might slip through if not acted on at once. I knew the authors of "Sherman Jewellery, The Masterpiece Collection" did not have this set. I believe I got this in the mail December 4th. 2017. A once in a lifetime set !~ ...G

Thanks racer4four, love to you !~
Eileen, this necklace matches better Leannes pin as it does not showcase stones which are not in her brooch. I hate the words rare but this set pictured above is one of Sherman's most rare set, if not the rarist. He just never made this bracelet or necklace, not even shown in the book, as this one is not known by most collectors & not a set the book authors possibly ever seen but I should let them know about it !~
Sherman was not a big necklace seller and most of them are relatively simple so most pieces NEVER had a necklace to match. Finding any really elaborate necklaces is hard because few were made. Wreath type designs virtually never had a necklace that was made to match. I think sometimes Sherman used specific stones to match what a clent wanted, and that was as far as it got.
Thank you Eileen, I do believe I have the necklace here in fuschia colours which I seen several of in 2017, but this green one seems to be close to a one of as I have never seen another. Sherman used these green opaque stones so seldom, it seems an event when you find one. On pins and brooches it is easier to find more rare colour combinations.
Oh my goodness...stunning! And my absolute favorite colors! I’ve tried to pick up a few Sherman pieces to add to my small collection of Fenichel and Regency, but have been unsuccessful. I’m not an expert by any means on the designer Looking at your beautiful collection raises the bar on what I was previously considering! Terry
Thank you Terry, good luck in the future with Sherman !~
A gorgeous set ! I must have missed this beauty sooner . xo
Added 3rdand 4th photos today March 3, 2024 to show condition of gold plating overall. In my opinion excellent, taking the age of necklace as guide.
Gorgeous set, Phil.
Thanks Daisy, I appreciate. Bye, Byes are so hard to do !~
