Vintage 1940's (?) large, heavy gold tone brooch with clear and yellow rhinestones; maker unknown. 3 3/4" tall, 2 1/2" wide. Can anyone offer a better guess on the vintage of this? There are no maker's marks on the back. I'm trying to send as much information as I can for the pieces I'm sending to my daughter. TIA

Nice looking piece but I think you are being a bit generous with the date.
The date was given to me by someone on another site, I am trying to find out from people here that actually have a knowledge of vintage costume jewelry what time frame it may be from.
