This great plate was purchased two month ago to Graciela in the antique flea market of the weekends in Córdoba and Sergio paid about U$ . He loves cherubims and the hands painted figures are magnificent. I was able to read the legend in gold on the back that is that of Adolphe Hache & Pepin Le Halleur of Vierzon and Paris, France. Hache & Le Halleur, a porcelain decorating firm, exhibited at the 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia, and won a Gold Medal at the 1878 Paris Exposition. (That 1878 award was proudly added to the maker’s mark). I found only one object on the web https://www.etsy.com/es/listing/558010386/stunning-adolphe-hache-pepin-lehalleur . Since this mark is not the usual one that looks like a seal with the two faces of the gold medal and was used until 1889, when the firm’s name (and mark) changed. That it seems that it must date before 1878 and after 1842. The blank is the more usual one you can find similar on the web, but I was not able to locate one with the cobalt and gilt decoration. The cherubs that are letting away a bird from the cage is a very old motif similar to some Sevres paintings inspired in the paintings of Francois Boucher https://www.flickr.com/photos/odisea2008/5229279739/ . Around 1846 Sevres produced plates with a similar blank and cobalt and gold.

The gilt edged cobalt plate is beautiful, and I love that image of the cherubs with the birdcage, which was also popular in German porcelain
