Eagle Head Carved Chippendale Style, Ball and Claw, Wing Back Easy Chair?
Looking for any information on date range, manufacturer or artist? Or information pointing me to an expert who may be able to help. Chair has been reupholstered. I can see old tack holes in the wood on the bottom from older upholstery.
I have searched the internet for the eagle heads on the arms and found nothing similar in this style. It almost seems native Pacific Northwest style art. So many eagle references, I wonder if it is patriotic, or early US government?

It appears to be 20th century, nothing to do with government or any other fantasy but the carver did delight in eagles. Unfortunately there were thousands of very good furniture makers who put their own mark on some furniture like this. They left absolutely no records when their factory closed. Very beautiful carving of a chippendale beauty !~

I've got a carver chair with the same head and legs...did you ever find out about your chair? I'm struggling too.
