When I was a kid, I really had no interest in dolls and figurines. Well, how about this. More than a few decades later, I just get the biggest kick out of animal and people figurines and placing them in entertaining environments.
I found this tiny carved jade Kiwi bird at an estate sale this past weekend. I couldn't pass her up. The jade is a solid dark green. I wish I could have captured more of the green.
Anyway, I placed her on top of a small B&G ceramic thingy about which I have no idea of its purpose. Maybe you do. If you do, can you tell me? Thanks. The Kiwi and B&G piece are placed inside a The Foley China England fine bone china cup. All are placed inside a pottery planter by Miramar of California, 1956.
I call this masterpiece "Jade Kiwi Waiting for Water." Don't worry, she got her water. Haha! Well, all my friends think I'm a bit nutty, and now, I'm sure you do too. But, the most important thing is that I get a kick out of myself. I hope you get a kick out of me too!
Enjoy!
The kiwi bird is so cute, and I love the pretty ceramic home you've made for her!
