minimal wear. My grandmother bought this somewhere between 1960-1970 and it has been hanging in her home since then. I would love some more information. It looks to be handcrafted and hand-painted. I would love to know more information, however, the information on the back has been damaged.

Hi there! Welcome to CW. What a great mirror. I don't know for sure if I'm right but isn't this the Rococo style? I know I have recently seen "pictures" or I guess you could say framed pieces that are just like what's on the sides of the mirror here and I wondered about them. My gut kept telling me to get them but I knew they would most likely get damaged before I did anything with them so I didn't purchase them. I just don't know but certainly hope someone here does. I don't know if all Rococo is gold gilded or not but that's what it looks like to me. It's huge! Very nice!

I just took a look at the label and this may be a reproduction piece. I might think the label is new and possibly not Italian. Would that be a date? 10-81? Still puts it close to the date of 70's... Don't know for sure.

I only know that is was bought between 1960-1970. She paid over $1000 back then which I suppose doesn't say much. Thank you for your comment. I wish I knew more information.

I agree with shareurpassion on this and think the date is around 10-81. I used to like seeing a lot of this style when I was looking at mirrors. A lot of them are made of lightweight resin. Unfortunately a lot of mirrors must be seen to be evaluated properly.

Do you have any suggestions of who I would be able to bring this mirror to in Illinois? Also do you know what something like this can be valued if the date was 10-81?

Actually no, I live in Canada. It is hard to evaluate as the plaster or resin figures are so unique it would be hard to find a value, if nothing else take it to an auction and wish for the best.

Most lovely! I almost bought one similar to this. It was selling as a buffet mirror. For over ones buffet. I've recently got a few buffets. But missed out on the sale as it sold right away. Yours might be longer tho. I would have to measure my big buffet. Vey nice!

I would agree that this piece is not that old. You can tell old mirrors by just looking into the mirror. And if you put your finger on it. The mirror has a gap between your finger. Newer mirrors have less a gap. But this one is the paper label that someone peeled off. With that said it don't mean that it don't have value. This piece is rather beautiful. I use eBay to help determine prices. Thanks for sharing.
