Recently acquired these pinbacks. Two online lots totaling eleven vintage 1960s Protest Pinback Buttons, discovered in Vermont. Not to suggest Vermont has many old hippies mind you... As for the White Immigrant pinback I know many people who would wear this today.
These are all so interesting, a little protest time capsule. During the Nam war in jr hi they would ask us "do you believe in a moratorium", I had no idea, but it was a worrisome time. Thanx for a thoughtful post!
That is a wonderful historic moment. I was in High School while my brother was in college trying to shut down the university... they were worrisome times and when Kent State happened, I did not know what to think... thanks for sharing.
So you know I love them great snap shots of history & a nice find, the Killing more and enjoying less can do quite well on it's own.
Peace
I am doing research/tracking down objects for an exhibition that looks at the 1960s in Vermont. Do you know anything more about the buttons' provenance? I'd love to see more Vermont related ephemera from the 1960s if you have any!
