I am trying to research this pin so if anyone knows anything about the earliest Disney pin badges I'd love to know. I do know that the earliest Mickey Mouse drawings/cartoons had a very long nose like this pin. Also I think the way he is standing and the big hands and feet is typical of Mickey. He has little diamante stones in his shoes which is also quite unusual.
This is just not my area - he is really tiny, not much bigger than a dime or 5p coin as you can see by the last photo. It is very difficult to research as there is so many modern and vintage Mickey pin badges and I can't find anything like this one. Any help is appreciated. :)

I seriously doubt this is Mickey and he was originally called Steamboat Willie and it doesn't look like him either. It could quite easily be someone elses rendition. If it was original Disney it should be marked. Living in Florida we have bunches of Disney both old and new and this doesn't fit.

Thanks fhrjr2, disappointing but interesting. I was pointed in the direction of Ub Iwerks who had the original inspiration for the character that became Mickey in the 1920s and I did think there was a very strong resemblance. Early pins were not always marked on the reverse, especially if there were just a few made. I will keep an open mind for now anyway :)

Always keep an open mind. There were many items made for Disney in the early years that were marked but not marked Disney. Fish-Hubley characters are a perfect example of Disney items not marked Disney but very valuable. The answer is in the research we do.

Thank you fhrjr2! I know that good research can make a huge difference... and even if it doesn't there's always something new to learn...

This is, I believe, an Ignatz Mouse figural brooch.
