This picture was among my Mums old pictures, with a few others. It's a picture of a young man on a motorbike, though the name W H Webster isn't a family name. It's dated 1917. I don't have the pictures with me, as my Mum still has them, so not sure if anything is written on the back. There is a cross above one of the soldiers, and I think he could be my Great Grandfather Bell.
Love that studio photo and a superb collection here !~
GREAT motorcycle/ troop image!
Not sure if you knew, but I'll translate the inscription:
"GHQ"-- General Headquarters
"RFC"-- Royal Flying Corps
"BEF"-- British Expeditionary Forces

Thank you Scott, I probably should have worked out what the initials stand for! I knew GHQ, but not the others. My Dad was in the Army so I was brought up around military bases etc.
Glad to help out and thanks for sharing your family treasure!
